The Center

Our labs and facilities

CBORT maintains a wide range of OCT imaging instruments, spanning from bench-top microscopes for small animal in vivo imaging to catheter-based instruments for imaging the coronary arteries or the upper gastrointestinal tract in human patients. In addition, CBORT has extensive laboratory space for research and development purposes, including a facility for the fabrication of catheters.

Imaging systems

  • 1300 nm center wavelength, <10 µm axial resolution, variable lateral resolution 15-50 µm, 50-100 kHz A-line rate
  • Ideal for imaging of excised tissue and in vivo imaging of small animals
  • Angiography and polarization sensitive imaging

Dermatology

  • 1300 nm center wavelength, <10 µm axial resolution, variable lateral resolution 15-50µm, 50-100 kHz A-line rate
  • Movable scan head for convenient imaging of various skin locations on the human body
  • Angiography and polarization sensitive imaging
Opthalmo System

Ophthalmic Imaging

Research and Development Laboratory Space

CBORT has established optical laboratories that are set up with optical tables and laboratory benches dedicated to the development of diagnostic imaging consoles. The labs are equipped with fiber workstations, optical spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, an RF spectrum analyzer, and an electronics work bench.

Catheter fabrication facility

CBORT has a dedicated clean-room for the fabrication of catheters, equipped with a microscope inspection workstation, a dedicated fusion splicer, a fiber/glass processing device, polishers/grinders, devices for stripping cladding, and a sputterer.
